Moving from South Africa to Canada, without the guesswork.
Free plain-English guides written for South Africans β Express Entry, study permits, SAPS clearances, moving your money, and what your first Canadian winter actually feels like. Ask us your questions, book a planning session, and get hands-on help with the practical side of your move.
We're South Africans who made the move ourselves β now operating from Vancouver, Canada. Praat gerus Afrikaans met ons.
Start with the pathway that fits you
There is no single "immigrate to Canada" queue β there are pathways. These guides explain each one in plain English, with the South African details other sites skip.
Express Entry
Canada's points-based system for skilled workers β how CRS points work and why your IELTS score matters more than you think.
Read the guide βProvincial Nominee Programs
Every province runs its own streams. A nomination can effectively decide your Express Entry outcome.
Read the guide βThe Study Route
Studying in Canada as a family strategy β costs, work rights, and what a study permit does and doesn't promise.
Read the guide βWork Permits & LMIA
How Canadian job offers really work for South Africans β and how to spot the job-offer scams targeting SA applicants.
Read the guide βFamily Sponsorship
Spouses, partners, parents β who can sponsor whom, and the unabridged-certificate issues that trip up SA files.
Read the guide βThe SA Document Checklist
SAPS police clearance, unabridged certificates, ECA transcripts β start these early; they set your timeline.
Read the guide βHow we help
The guides are free. Beyond that: we answer your questions, plan your move with you, and stay hands-on through the practical side β and when your case needs licensed immigration advice, we help you find the right registered professional.

The South African details, covered
Generic immigration sites don't know what an unabridged certificate is. We do.
Money out of SA
Proof of funds, the paper trail, and how the SA-side allowances work when you move your savings across.
Read the guide βLanguage tests
IELTS vs CELPIP, the CLB bands that actually move your score, and booking tests in South Africa.
Read the guide βWhat it really costs
A rand-based budget across the whole journey β government fees, tests, medicals, flights and landing funds.
Read the guide βCommon questions
Can you help with my visa application, or tell me if I qualify?
Not directly β in Canada, only licensed consultants (RCICs) and lawyers may do that work for a fee, and honesty about that line is the foundation of this site. What we do: answer your general questions, plan and sequence your move, deliver hands-on help with the practical side, and help you find and verify a licensed professional on the official register at college-ic.ca for the application itself.
Then what do I get from a paid session?
Structure. Most families lose months to scattered research. In one call we map your realistic pathway options to research, your document sequencing (SAPS and Home Affairs first β they're slow), a budget in rands, and a written plan you can act on.
Do you guarantee I'll get to Canada?
No one can guarantee that, and you should be sceptical of anyone who does. Immigration decisions are made only by IRCC.
How do payments work?
Everything is arranged by email β we send an upfront estimate, then an invoice, and you pay by EFT in rands to our First National Bank (FNB) account. No online payment, no card details on this site. Work is confirmed once payment reflects, and if a session doesn't go ahead, we refund you.
Can we talk before I pay?
Of course β email info@cape2canada.co.za with a couple of lines about your situation and we'll tell you honestly whether a session is worth it for you.
